I’ve been using free domain for learning purpose. I use co.cc and uni.cc. Both offer DNS management which I can use for my free host. Recently co.cc added its service, so you can modify DNS record such A, MX or CNAME record. It’s just like any other top level domain (.com, .net, .org).
Setting up this free domain is very easy. Even a beginner like me can set it up by my self.
Registration process is fast and almost instant. First you check whether your desired domain name is still available. If it is, you can register it. Remember to activate your domain after your registration. You have maximal two days for this. You can put your host’s name server (if you want to use DNS service) or simply your URL (for url redirection). Don’t worry… you can change it later.
