Is there any PPC with low minimum payout?

March 29th, 2010 No Comments   Posted in Adsense, Blogging

DualFor PPC players, the hardest part is to collect earning until reach minimum payout. Most of PPC programs has $100 or more for users enabled to request payout. With standard pay per click value these days, waiting for payment day will be a long time waiting. Especially for new players. This is why not much beginners can survive within this business.

I only know some of PPC or adsense-like program which has minimum payout. So beginner can experience PPC business with short time to reach payout. When I search Google, many of them are old program and not active or worse it’s become scam. Some of still active programs:

1. EasyAds

Minimum payout is $2.50 through PayPal

As much as 10 ad formats

High 80% RevShare

Fast payments via PayPal

Real-time statistics

2. AdToll

Minimum payout is $20 through PayPal

Prepare your feeds for adsense

July 21st, 2008 5 Comments   Posted in Adsense

Adsense is now testing new ads format for feeds. This “Adsense for feed” only available for several handpicked publisher by adsense team. I think this will open for all publisher in short time. While waiting for the opportunity to come, here’s some tips to get ready for Adsense for feeds.

Content quality: You will earn Google AdSense revenue only if people subscribe to your feed. The more subscriptions you get, the better are your chances of success with AdSense for feeds. Since most people would be looking for quality content, you need to make sure that your feed contains up-to-date quality information that is presented to the users in an easy-to-understand language. Besides that, the feeds should be free from grammatical and spelling mistakes.

Content quantity: Include as much content in your feeds as you possibly can. Again, the aim is prove that the feed is useful and comprehensive (so that more users subscribe to it). If you feel that the complete article cannot go into the feed, include a good summary of the article.

Limit the ad units: If the users find that your feeds contain too much Ads, they might not subscribe to your feeds at all (and the whole purpose of feeds would get defeated). In order to ensure that you get good subscription to your feeds, you should limit the ad units to one per feed. Another good way of ensuring that your feeds don’t look like an advertising medium is to place the Ads either at the end of article or after having sufficiently discussed the topic.

Still plenty of fish from adsense

May 29th, 2008 No Comments   Posted in Adsense

I agree that it’s getting harder and harder to earn from adsense. Not like the old days :)

Some new change of Google adsense terms and policy has direct effect on most publisher account. Does your adsense earning have slowed down too?

New clickable area

Now, if you are not a premium publisher.. You will only have Ads Title and URL Link clickable. The reason behind this new policy is because there are too many accidental clicks. It generates money for publisher but not good for advertiser. So by minimizing the clickable area, users is more likely aware about the ads and hopefully will convert to sales.

When Google announced this policy, I am pretty sure that this one will sink my income. And it’s proven. Earnings drops sharply :( I believe, I am not the only one. So what to do? Give up? It’s up to you, but there’s a little trick to work around this situation.

The logic is simple. We need to put more weight on ‘clickable area’. Here’s some option you need to experiment by your self.

1. Make the color stand out. Shout it out.

Don’t afraid to test new color for your ads. You will find which color combination is work perfectly on your site. It’s also good practice to serve PPC advertising for ads blinded person.

Try to use bright, eye punching color, for example blue on yellow. Read for color harmonization to try different color set. Some bloggers use unique background image as frame for their adsense blocks.

2. Use same color as website theme… with some modification

Adsense gurus tell you to use same color as you site template. This is well known adsense tactic to boost your performance, but recently, Google make new guidance about ads placement and allowed blended ads. The safest way to play is follow the exact rules. Make sure your reader can distinguish ads from content. Ask your friends, your spouse or your kids about this. If they can tell the difference so are most of your readers (and Google too!).
Many webmaster using this by using no border on adsense blocks and with the same background color

3. Combination of method 1 and method 2.

You can combine both methods to find out which one will give best result. You also can rotate your adsense color scheme periodically. This can generate good result when you have more returning or regular visitors to your site. For example, online forum or social site.

This Google ads will suit better for amateur site

May 7th, 2008 1 Comment   Posted in Adsense

Yesterday I saw Google ads that use non standard font – Arial. I read about Google testing new set of font on DP Forum. When I saw it, it had my attention. I might considered as nearly adsense blinded person, so when this ads drag my eyes to read, I think it’s good to make your ads to stand out and eventually will increase your CTR.

Want to preview those ads with new fonts. It’s not officially released by google, so the new ads will only appear on some site. What is ads look like? I haven’t got a chance to capture those ads. When I go back to the site, ads return to it standard format with Arial font.

A guy in DigitalPoint post a screen shot of this test ads.

amateur google ads

Font used is MS Comic Sans. My personal opinion, this font is not suitable for serious or professional site. But for particular niche, I think it’s a good option. Especially if your niche related to kids.

So what to expect from this test? I hope it’s like rounded courner option. Publisher has option to choose which font to appear on ads block. Then it’s good solution to have more custom ads. My wild guest is at least there will be 4 fonts available. Arial, Trebuchet MS, Comic Sans, Georgia.

Careful with your blended adsense ads

April 10th, 2008 1 Comment   Posted in Adsense

Recently, Adsense has published two new guidelines (rules) about ads placements and optimization. Just the opposite of their own post on adsense tips :bingung: , now adsense publisher do not allowed to blend his/her adsense blocks. The reason is well blended ads may confuse readers and may mislead them to click the ads.

Inside AdSense: Another look at optimizations gives some example of site which breaking the new rules.

Rule 1: Ads shouldn’t be placed under a title or section heading in a way that implies that the ads are not ads.

For example, ads shouldn’t be placed under titles such as “Dallas Business Opportunities” or “Today’s Hot Deals”. Placing ads directly below titles such as these implies to your users that the links in the ads are publisher-created content. The example below shows a placement that does not follow this guideline.

Adsense under title

This is still not clear for me. So placing the ads under the title is PROHIBITED or still allowed as long as the title should not lead the viewer to think that the ad is part of the website content.

Rule 2: Ads should be easily distinguishable from surrounding content.

Similarly, you should not place an ad unit by a group of links that has identical colors and line spacing. Doing so may cause users to think the ad unit is content created by you.

Blended Adsense

Are these two new rules only apply to small publisher? I view adsense top earner’s site still ignore the new guideline.
